Grant to Support a Wide Variety of Community Programs and Initiatives in Indiana (USA)
GrantID: 65738
Grant Funding Amount Low: Open
Deadline: Ongoing
Grant Amount High: Open
Summary
This grant opportunity is created to support nonprofit organizations doing charitable work within a specific county (in this case, within DeKalb County, Indiana). The funding is intended to help those nonprofits carry out programs in areas such as arts & culture, community development, education, environment, health, human services, literacy, or youth development. Funds may be used for project support, general operating expenses, or capacity building to help organizations grow stronger and better serve their communities. Applicants must be nonprofit organizations (typically 501(c)(3) status) with programs targeting residents of the county; individuals and national organizations (unless their project benefits the local area) are generally not eligible.
Grants are awarded in multiple rounds (for example quarterly), and decisions are made about 60 days after each deadline. Award amounts are often modest (requests over a certain threshold may be discouraged or require prior consultation). Preference is given to proposals that reach underserved populations, foster collaboration, avoid duplication with existing services, and enhance an organization’s effectiveness or sustainability. Projects that are reactive, focused on travel, debt reduction, or capital campaigns may be lower priority or ineligible.
Recipients are expected to produce real outcomes—such as public events, educational programming, or community engagement—and to report on impacts at the end of the grant cycle. The hope is that these grants will help local nonprofits better respond to pressing needs, strengthen infrastructure, and build capacity to serve their communities more effectively now and into the future.
This grant may be available to individuals and organizations in Indiana that are actively involved in Non-Profit Support Services. To locate more funding opportunities in your field, visit The Grant Portal and search by interest area using the Search Grant tool.
