Manufacturing employs 19 percent of the workforce, and many rural households rely on employer-sponsored insurance that excludes out-of-network telehealth providers. Eligibility determinations must therefore verify that participating youth have coverage that reimburses the specific teletherapy platform before enrollment. Indiana Eligibility for Teletherapy for Rural Youth funding scores applications on the percentage of proposed participants who live in counties with fewer than 50 licensed mental health professionals per 100,000 residents.
Applicants must submit current maps from the Health Resources and Services Administration confirming shortage designations and provide letters from at least two rural school corporations confirming they lack on-site counseling capacity.
