Seniors in rural Indiana face particular barriers to online benefits enrollment and telehealth, directly limiting access to Medicare Advantage plans and prescription assistance programs.
The digital literacy initiative targets low-income seniors in Marion, Vigo, and Allen counties through 12-week curricula covering device navigation, secure email, and state portal usage. Training occurs at public library branches and senior centers equipped with Indiana's state-funded broadband expansion sites. Modules incorporate Indiana's myINDIANA.gov system for SNAP and Medicaid redetermination.
Proposals must demonstrate partnerships with Indiana's Area Agencies on Aging and provide county-level data on current senior internet access gaps. Budgets include device lending libraries calibrated to Indiana's public library consortium procurement rules.
